What is RNIA?
RNIA was created to be the central authority and international clearinghouse for promoting and managing Relationship Capital (RC). In a Relationship Economy, Relationship Capital is a tangible way of communicating the value assigned to individual and organizational entities. RC measures the quality and effectiveness of the relationship interactions between them, and the interactions they have internally.
RC measurements provide individuals and companies with insights as to how they are regarded by others—peers, management, competitors, clients, suppliers, etc. These measurements enable people to share their “scores” with others, as a way of validating reputation and ability to keep their word. Measurements of RC help with giving feedback to/receiving feedback on performance from others. Did they keep their promises? Did they follow through on their commitments?
Can you trust him/her with that special project? Can you count on that person in times of need? Does that company have integrity in its dealings with others? These measurements of what was previously thought to be too subjective to calibrate in the past are integral to building and managing our personal and professional reputations. When you’ve stripped away everything else, good reputations are what move us forward as individuals in our personal lives and as businesses in the world stage.
RC solves problems by reinforcing good behavior between people and companies and the resultant good outcomes from that behavior.
· Individuals can use it to enhance their personal reputations by improving the quality of relationships based on trust, accountability, reliability, etc.
· Businesses can apply it in every aspect of their enterprises and in their dealings with employees, customers, suppliers, external stakeholders and business partners.
RNIA’s Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK) helps everyone learn how to apply RC in their everyday interactions. The CBOK creates a way to define, manage and assess what is important in relationships, and to help others speak and “live” a common understanding of relationships.
As a neutral and unbiased source of information, RNIA serves the needs of its members and the industry by providing operational standards, learning opportunities, professional certification and industry advocacy.
CBOK enables companies to measure the return-on-investment that can be expected from RC initiatives implemented across their extended enterprise, and presents fresh opportunities for growing businesses to participate and thrive as the world accelerates toward the Relationship Economy.
